The Rising Sun: Our Youth, Our Hope

As the rising sun symbolizes hope for the earth, so too do our youth embody the aspirations of our community. Each new dawn brings renewed promise for dreamers to pursue their unfulfilled ambitions; likewise, our youth represent the hope for realizing the dreams yet to be achieved. Just as the morning dew transforms into a dazzling spectrum of colors, the innate talents of our youth are poised to shine, ready to be channeled into meaningful endeavors—if only their hearts are touched by love, compassion, and reverence. Our youth are truly the rising sun of our community.

Brimming with ideas and ideals, they stand at the threshold of action, eager to bring their visions to life. Their boundless energy and enthusiasm should be given the freedom to flourish, guided by the discipline that comes from within.

As prayers are offered to the Sun God for blessings, so too do we hope that our youth gain the wisdom to lead the community toward a life enriched by technological, literary, and cultural achievements, and grounded in spiritual and ethical values—marked by love, compassion, and respect for all creation.

To achieve this, it is essential to provide our youth with quality education, firmly rooted in spiritual values, cultural pride, and ethical principles. They must be granted the freedom to think and express themselves, and their voices must always be heard.

The Young Professional Grooming (YPG) student magazine, Ilangkathir of Rising Sun, is a step in this direction. The magazine serves as a valuable platform for youth to express and showcase their thoughts, ideas, ideals, and experiences through creative writing. Ilangkathir is a collective effort—created by, for, and with the youth.

It is both fitting and auspicious that the inaugural issue of Ilangkathir is released on Independence Day, 31st August. As the nation commemorates its liberation from colonial rule, YPG youth celebrate the launch of their own magazine, Ilangkathir, which promises to reflect and share with the community their independent thinking, sense of responsibility, capability, and creativity.
